About The Film Writer
This is our story
Hello! We are Raphael and Laura, The Film Writer. We come from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico were every sunset is an enchanting view. Living in this island has fed our souls of creativeness and we’ve chosen to share it with the world through our cameras. Our filmmaking journey started on 2015, and our style has been changing and getting mature while our passion for it has only gotten stronger.
We are animal lovers! We have two dogs, two bunnies, and two parakeets. Our days schedule mostly consist of cuddling with our pets, exercising, editing and hanging out with family or friends. We are constantly listening to music, dancing around the house or looking for ways to apply whatever new trick we learned that week. Also, we really enjoy watching movies from our favorite directors like Christopher Nolan, Joe Wright, Denis Villeneuve or Zack Snyder. Our favorite place in our house is the patio except when its too hot, then it’s the couch in our bedroom. We both absolutely love to travel, it has become our favorite activity.
Raphael André
Raphael literally has filmmaking in his veins: his dad used to work for Telemundo as a camera man, and his grandfather (Rafael Quiñones Vidal) was the creator and host of the prestigious show Tribuna del Arte.
His inherited talent was the start of The Film Writer and now that talent has transcended into a passion that drives him to become a never-ending learner of the field.
Interstellar and Dune are the two movies you can find Raphael watching in repeat, he says “the cinematography is impecable on those two”. And an artist that will never leave his playlist is RY X.
Raphael loves playing soccer, editing and filming their own memories. He enjoys playing with their nephews, going out on ice cream dates with his mom, “and making coffee for Laura” (comment added by Laura). His favorite color is blue and now that he came back from Italy his favorite food is pizza with Nutella.
Laura Cristina
Laura has a mix of New York, Spain and Puerto Rico in her upbringing, her parents are the most creative people she has known, and her husband is her constant inspiration for personal projects.
She enjoys learning about posing tricks, and she's passionate about storytelling —that’s why she plays the director part in the style shoots for The Film Writer.
A movie she can watch again and again is Pride & Prejudice (2005) A song that will never leave her playlist is I’m Yours by Jason Mraz. Her favorite color is soft pink but she feels aqua blue is a strong competitor.
Laura loves creating new things, trying new diy projects, and painting is one of her preferred hobbies. When they take time to enjoy their free days outside the house, she prefers to visit the beach and eat local food (mofongo filled with ceviche).
